Beauty Edit: Hand Cream Favourites - Saviour for dry hands

I love a good hand cream. I had been applying lotions to my hands since I was a little girl because my mama told me to. I feel that's a pretty good habit that she passed on to me. As I grew older, I explored products from different brands because the scent of a hand cream is a huge factor that can affect my purchase decision.

Putting on a hand cream is a routine I do without fail every night so a good pleasant, natural scent really helps to improve my sleep quality. And of course, a nice hand cream has to perfectly moisturise my hands, cuticles and dry areas of my body. My skin is really sensitive. Although I am currently based in sunny Singapore, small weather changes make my knees and elbows REALLY dry, especially in December when it gets a little cooler and drier.

I was clearing my room a few weeks ago and found out that I was such a hand cream hoarder. There were so many expired tubes and I had to sadly, toss them into the bin. Then, I realised the reason I had so many hand creams was because firstly, a lot of them were gifts. Also, I have my own favourite hand creams which I will definitely repurchase when they run out. As for those that I do not really like, I'll just leave them somewhere and forget about them (that's a bad habit I need to improve on, I hate waste).  Oh, and I almost forgot. Good hand creams hydrate and absorb well so they can't be greasy after application.

So in this article, I will be listing out my ultimate favourite hand creams that I will ALWAYS repurchase. Dry hands no more.

"Let a little Love And Light into your life" was part of the  product description on Lush's website. So please believe me when I say that it is a total life saviour for those with really dry hands, especially during the winter. The base of organic cocoa butter is going to throughly moisturize your skin while jojoba oil seals the moisture in. Your hands are so going to thank you. Using orange and neroli essential oils to scent the product is a great choice. The sweet, citrusy aroma is definitely going to brighten up one's day.

I always pass by Aesop and can't help but squeeze a little bit of their lovely samples that they generously place outside their stores on my hands. Then one day, I decided to give myself a treat and bought a tube of the Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm. No regrets. This hand balm contains essential oils of mandarin orange, lavender and cedarwood. When I first applied it, I could smell the sweet citrus flavour of mandarin orange. Then the relaxing scent of lavender and cedarwood start kicking in. That's when I know it's time to hit the sack. I love it so much that I wish there's a candle that smells exactly like it so I can make my room smell like Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm.

This was a gift from one of my very lovely little sister from another mother. She was on a trip to New Zealand and bought a few of these for us as a souvenir and it's surprisingly good. They used pure New Zealand milk and manuka honey as part of the ingredients and those are two are great, nourishing ingredients for our skin. Aside from that, they also made the hand cream smell so good. I'm using it right now and the scent is making me feel so cosy and comfortable.

Tamburins is a beauty line introduced by Gentle Monster in 2017 and the Nude H. And Cream was one of their first products. Like Gentle Monster, Tamburins went for a simple design for their packaging. The gold accents gave the product a touch of elegance and character. Aesthetics aside, this hand cream is scented with little hints of botanical essential oils and extracts (that include rosemary, thyme, lavender, bergamot, patchouli, sandalwood and oregano). End product is a unique woody and slightly spicy scent. Macadamia oil, one of the most nourishing oil ever imo is also included in the formula of this hand cream so it's really all the good stuff in one very elegant tube.

This cream is pure goodness because it's shea butter whipped with all-natural rosewater (we whip our shea butter in our lip polish too and it's really the best thing ever) then infused with one of our very favourite combination - calming essential oils of frankincense and ylang ylang (we love you Kiss the Moon). It's no wonder why I am loving this so much. This cream is so nourishing that it intensively hydrates your hands and cuticles throughout the night. The essential oils combination helps to calm, ease and relax your mind. It's consistency is a little heavier than the usual hand creams so I'd totally recommend using it right before you sleep.

My skin has been so dry recently so I had been relying on hand and body creams more than ever. Although hand creams are heavily marketed as Christmas gifts but it is a product that I'll gladly use the whole year round - no matter what season it is.
